Is the Craft Hemp CBD Ethos of Vermont in Jeopardy?

My family and I live in Vermont. We operate a hemp business here. Vermonters have a way of life in which we take an almost universal pride. At Northeast Kingdom Hemp, it is summed up in our motto, “Vermont-grown by Vermont’s own.”

We like things to be made locally — as locally as possible. We like them made or designed with care by the people who sell them. If the things are ingested, we like them to be organic. Vermont-produced cheeses, beers, maple syrup, and other goods demonstrate this ethos to anyone who’s ever lived in or visited our state.

And as a consequence, Vermonters are a little suspicious when large, out-of-state entities enter the market and immediately begin altering a landscape that we’d been shaping and stewarding so thoughtfully up to that point. It now seems that this is exactly what’s about to happen with regard to our hemp and cannabis market. It feels like a blow to our state’s whole concept of Vermont family farms and artisan quality brands of CBD and cannabis products.

No one can know the future, and I admit to feeling a bit defeated right now. But here is our promise to our loyal customers: We will always strive to produce the purest, healthiest CBD products on the market. Always 100% organic, grown directly on our farm, using state-of-the-art CO₂ extraction equipment by Green Mill.

Our in-house small-batch CO₂ extraction techniques capture the full power of hemp in every bottle. Our attention to quality yields CBD oils that are pure, great-tasting, and teeming with naturally occurring phytocannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids that are largely lost with more large-scale industrial extraction methods. Because we perform the entire process from planting to bottling right here on the farm, we know that every step is done right to give you the healthiest CBD oils available.

We know that consumers have a lot of choices when it comes to the CBD products that they purchase. There are a lot of “Made in Vermont” products on the market, with more coming every day. At Northeast Kingdom Hemp we take great pride in the fact that not only is all of the hemp that goes into our products grown right here in the beautiful Green Mountain State, but also all of our plants are lovingly tended by one of our family members.

Vermont means something special. For me and my family, Northeast Kingdom Hemp is our all-encompassing contribution to a way of life that is everything to those who face the sometimes massive challenges of living and working in this rugged place we call home. We choose to meet those challenges head-on, even when they come from outside Vermont.
