My family and I live in Vermont. We operate a hemp business here. Vermonters have a way of life in which we take an almost universal pride. At Northeast Kingdom Hemp, it is summed up in our motto, “Vermont-grown by Vermont’s own.” We like things to be made locally — as locally as possible. We
LET'S TALK CBD
So.. What is CBD?
CBD, short for cannabidiol, is a chemical compound from the Cannabis sativa plant. CBD is a naturally occurring substance that’s used in products like oils and edibles to impart a feeling of relaxation and calm. Unlike it’s cousin, delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), which is the major active ingredient in marijuana, CBD is NOT psychoactive
You’ve probably heard the terms cannabis, marijuana, and hemp all tossed around in relation to CBD. The plant Cannabis sativa has two primary species, hemp and marijuana. Both contain CBD, but there’s a much higher percentage in hemp, which also has very low (>0.3%) levels of THC compared to marijuana.
How is CBD Made?
Cultivation – Organically grown hemp is harvested by hand to ensure all plants are of the highest quality. The hemp is then dried in a temperature and humidity controlled environment to prepare for extraction.
Extraction – The CBD concentrate that is contained in the hemp plant is then extracted through precision C02 extraction which allows for the cleanest, safest, and highest quality product
Quality and Safety – Following extraction the CBD concentrate is then tested both in our lab and through a third party vendor to ensure that our products have the highest levels of quality, potency, and purity. Not only do we test our own products but because our testing is so thorough we also provide third party testing and extraction for other hemp farmers.
CBD – Once the CBD concentrate is tested and we have ensured the highest quality and purity it is then used to make all of our custom products. CBD products give you safe and easy access to the full potential of cannabinoids anytime, anywhere
